Dieline design services provide the flat template a packaging manufacturer cuts and folds. Omeiro draws precise 1:1 vector die-lines for tuck-end boxes, auto-lock bottoms and other folding cartons, with correct cut lines, score creases, perforations and glue flaps.

Artwork cannot be finalized until the template is right, so the dieline comes first.

Dieline design: exact measurements for a box that folds

Dieline design starts with exact dimensions. Give the inside length, width and height, the board thickness and the box style you want, such as tuck-end, sleeve or auto-lock bottom. If your manufacturer supplies a template, send it, since machines have their own tolerances. Mention the product weight, because a heavy item needs stronger construction than a light one.

A common mistake is guessing the glue flap or tuck depth, which leads to boxes that do not close or fold. Dieline design here draws cut, crease and perforation lines at 1:1 scale, with flaps and tolerances set for the board type. Layers separate each line type so a printer can turn them on and off. The 3D preview on the top package lets you see the folded box before printing.
