Before commissioning hdr color grading, confirm the delivery specification of the platform or client, because requirements for peak brightness, file type and metadata differ. Also check that your source footage can support HDR: log or raw camera files hold the highlights, while compressed SDR exports do not. HDR10 uses fixed metadata for the whole video, while Dolby Vision adds scene-by-scene metadata so displays can adapt more precisely. Some platforms require one or both.
